As part of its commitment to fostering innovation and sustainability, the ROBUSTOO project took part in the Science Week 2024, on November 15th. Our coordinator, Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas Margarita Salas (CIB), hosted a hands-on workshop titled: “How we grow microorganisms in the laboratory for use as a source of industrial biocatalysts in the European project ROBUSTOO”.
The workshop introduced around 20 high school students to the exciting world of industrial biotechnology, allowing them to:
• Learn how microorganisms are cultured in the lab to support industrial applications.
• Understand how these microorganisms produce enzymes that act as biocatalysts, driving the sustainable innovations at the core of the ROBUSTOO project.
Through this engaging initiative, the ROBUSTOO project not only showcased its groundbreaking research but also inspired the next generation of scientists to explore the possibilities of biotechnology and its role in creating a more sustainable future.
